The Advantages of Business Cards
Some early forms of business cards were used during 17th century England to advertise a person’s trade and provide a map to a person’s place of business, according to BeLight Software, a company that provides personal productivity and business solutions. Business cards are still a smart investment today as a promotional tool.
Credibility
A business card can represent trustworthiness, honesty, and reliability that a company or business person would attach his name and number to a physical card. Not only is a company’s reputation or credibility at stake if no business cards are used, but the company stands the chance of being forgotten about when a prospective customer departs from the company’s or representative’s presence.
Convenience
Business cards are usually small—3.5 inches by 2 inches is the most common size— which makes them convenient to put in a wallet, purse or pocket. Business cards are small enough to hand out, tack on a bulletin board, enclose in a letter or display on a store counter.
